Safeguarding Children
Safeguarding.
Ensuring the safety and welfare of children
Rise Camps are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Background checks and safer recruitment is adhered to by all staff.
We believe that pupils have a right to learn in a supportive, caring and safe environment which includes the right to protection from all types of abuse; where staff are vigilant for signs of any pupil in distress and are confident about applying the/our safeguarding processes to avert and alleviate any such problems.
Safeguarding is about ensuring that everyone is safe from harm – safe from bullying, safe from people who could abuse, safe from discrimination or harassment – and that we all feel safe in our environment. If any member of staff has any suspicions about the treatment of a child, or actions of an adult, they must immediately raise it, either to the Rise Camps DSL team, local authority safeguarding services or the police.
If you are ever concerned about the safety or well‐being of someone at a camp please talk to the Designated Safeguarding Lead - Matt.
Remember safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

Children of all ages can benefit from mindfulness, the simple practice of bringing a gentle, accepting attitude to the present moment. It can help parents and caregivers, too, by promoting happiness and relieving stress. Here, we offer basic tips for children and adults of all ages, as well as several activities that develop compassion, focus, curiosity and empathy. Remember, mindfulness can be a lot of fun.
